Metroparks Toledo says Glass City Metropark’s Mini Maumee water play area will not reopen in time for Memorial Day weekend as usual. The substantial flood damage from last summer is still being repaired, according to Scott Carpenter, director of public relations at Metroparks Toledo. Since late July 2025, the Mini Maumee has been shuttered after Metroparks Toledo reported that floods severely damaged the building’s electrical and mechanical systems. According to officials, a mechanical malfunction at the time resulted in 12 to 15 feet of water flooding an underground mechanical room that circulates water through the play area.
