Gordon L. Bauer, age 73, of Bryan, Ohio, died at 6:50 P.M. on Saturday, October 18, 2014, at Genesis Health Care – Bryan Center. Mr Bauer worked as a Utility worker, Job Setter and later in Maintenance at Champion Molded which became Bryan Custom Plastics and is now JCIM in Bryan. He worked there for 45 years and was heavily involved with Local 141 in representing members interests with the union. He was also a part-time farmer and enjoyed collecting Allis-Chalmers tractors and John Wayne memorabilia.
Gordon L. Bauer was born May 30, 1941 at home in Cooney, Ohio, the son of Kenneth E. and Christine (Hug) Bauer. He graduated from Edon High School where he was active in FFA and 4H. Gordon married Helen M. Hall on July 27, 1963 at the Ney United Methodist Church, and she survives. Gordon is also survived by his daughters, Diana (Jessie) Bauer-Grant, of Waco, Kentucky and Ashley Bauer, of Montpelier; grandson, Justin Grant, of Evansville, Indiana; granddaughter, Jessica Grant, of Waco, Kentucky brothers, Dan (Terry) Bauer, of Edon, Rudy Bauer and Marlin Bauer, both of Cooney and several nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Dawn M. Bauer.
Funeral services for Gordon L. Bauer will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at 6:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio with Pastor Kevin Kellum officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 P.M. on Wednesday, prior to the service. Private family interment will take place at Riverview Memory Gardens in Defiance.
Memorials in the name of Gordon L. Bauer may be given to the Animal Rescue Facility.
