Grandma’s pit bull mix and grandkids save her life

A local woman’s pit bull and her grandchildren are credited with saving her life after she had a diabetic emergency. The family tells the Bryan Times today that Kay Schafer’s blood sugar bottomed out and the family dog, Titan, woke up the children on Tuesday morning to alert them to the woman’s illness. The kids were able to contact 911 and get the squad to their home. Schafer was treated and will be fine, the family says. The dog was adopted by the Defiance County Humane Society last December.
