Hazardous Weather Outlook

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for a good part of our area, including Williams, Defiance, Henry, Putnam, Fulton, Van Wert, and Allen Counties.

Although the weather forecasters say any accumulations will likely be light, the now is expected to spread across the area with 1 to 2 inches possible, then change over to freezing rain by mid-morning, and rain this afternoon as temperatures rise above freezing.

That ice though, could accumulate a bit before the changover occurs. The good news… any threat of heavy rain, which we were concerned about as of yesterday, no longer exists. However, there are concerns about ice jam flooding and also some possible flooding on the banks of many frozen creeks and streams.

Keep your radio set right here, as the situation changes, we will keep you updated.
