Henry Commissioners Get Money For Courthouse Project

The Henry County Commissioners had hoped that several ongoing construction projects at the historic courthouse in Napoleon would qualify for grant funding.

They got some good news Wednesday.

The commissioners learned their proposed project to replace the elevator in the courthouse would qualify for using revolving loan funds and micro-enterprise dollars. An application now will be filed with the state for those funds.

Commissioners learned though, that costs necessary to repair the exterior stone on the courthouse would not qualify for the grant programs. The Henry County Commissioners will be preparing bid specs to replace the elevator soon, while the stone repairs will now have to come from general fund.
