Voters in Henry County will decide on a five-year levy for HOPE Services. It’s a 1.5 mill levy that generates revenue to serve children and adults with developmental disabilities.
The Board is reportedly losing federal and state funding, according to the superintendent Melinda Slusser. She says the levy will be used to maintain the basic services. She says more and more residents are being referred for services, because doctors are able to refer children with developmental disabilities at birth as technology improves.
There are more than 400 children and adults with developmental disabilities who are being served by HOPE Services.
