During its meeting on Monday, the Hicksville Village Council proceeded to examine an ordinance pertaining to animal ownership in the village. A final reading of an ordinance pertaining to the keeping of animals close to residences was held by the council. When the topic of distance was brought up, Mayor Mike Barth expressed his opinion that 50 feet, rather than the 100 feet specified in the code, would be more accessible and inclusive for more residents.
