A local man convicted of child sexual abuse was sentenced to a long prison term in Defiance County Common Pleas Court. Tony Campbell, 45, Hicksville, was given a 14-year term by Judge Joseph Schmenk on charges of rape, a first-degree felony; and attempted rape, a second-degree felony. He faced life in prison on a second count of rape, but that charge was dismissed. His victim was about 7 years old at the time of the first incident.
