Highway Plans Outlined

The Conexus Indi­ana North­east Regional Logis­tics Coun­cil has revealed it’s plan for infra­struc­ture invest­ment over the next 30 years. Among the high­way project pri­or­i­ties… redesign­ing the Toll Road inter­change with I-69 in Steuben County in order to improve traf­fic flow. They also say the widen­ing of U.S. 33 to four lanes and the expan­sion of U.S. 6 from west of Kendal­lville to the Ohio bor­der are top pri­or­i­ties as well. The group also says they want to see Indi­ana 8 improved and widened from Indi­ana 3 to Indi­ana 327 to allow for bet­ter truck access between Gar­rett and Auburn.
The region’s coun­cil com­prises of 36 north­east Indi­ana offi­cials. The report fol­lows more than two years of study, and esti­mates all of the projects will cost about $4 billion.
