A home on Defiance’s northside was destroyed by fire early Saturday morning, but no injuries were reported. City firefighters were called to the blaze at 509 Gibson St. around 1:20 a.m. Saturday. firefighters searched the home but found no one. One person may have been living in the home, which was owned by a local bank, but was not located right away. Firefighters battled the blaze for about two hours while investigators were on the scene for about three hours later Saturday morning. Assistant Fire Chief Tim Bowling said the house and its contents, including a vehicle, were a total loss.
