Fundraising for Paulding Putnam Electric Cooperative’s (PPEC) Honor Flight began in January. Employees of Paulding Putnam are raising the money to pay for the Honor Flight Chapter in Northeast Indiana, which serves Indiana and northwest Ohio.
PPEC employees began the campaign after finding out there was a waiting list of more than 400 veterans in the region. Honor Flight gives veterans the opportunity to fly down to Washington, D.C., to see their war memorials built in honor of them, free of charge. The cost to send 86 veterans on the flight is around $70,000 and so far PPEC has raised around $65,000.
PPEC accepts donations online and is also raffling off a 2016 Chevy Silverado and has limited tickets left. Tickets can be purchased for $100 online, from any PPEC employee, or by stopping by the PPEC office.
