Ida Speiser, 87

Ida G. Speiser, 87 years, of Sherwood, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers, Bryan.  Ida was born July 15, 1927 in Williams Center, Ohio the daughter of the late William Albert and Clara Ethel (Crawford) Lovejoy.  She was a 1945 graduate of Bryan High School.  She married Dale “Tiny” Speiser on March 12, 1955, and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2005.  A devoted homemaker, Ida enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She also enjoyed watching birds from her window.  She was a member of the Williams Center Asbury United Methodist Church and the Bryan VFW Post 2489 Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are her children, Bill and his wife Charlie Speiser of Sherwood, Dawn Speiser of Sherwood and Betty Speiser of Bryan; six grandchildren, Kitty Speiser (Virginia Thomas) of Davenport, Iowa, Alaina (Ryan) Carnahan of Kendallville, Indiana, Ginette (Mike) Steele of Edgerton, Christopher Speiser of Bryan, Wesley Speiser (Katie Simon) of Toledo and Thomas Speiser of Bryan; four great-grandchildren, Alex Speiser, Connor Carnahan, Chloe and Serenity Steele.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, three sisters, Delores Lovejoy, Eileen Lovejoy and Joan Phillips; five brothers, Ed, Nub, Sass, Jack and Dick Lovejoy.

Visitation for Ida G. Speiser will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood.  Services and interment will be private.
