IED Discovered In Steuben County

In Steuben County, police say Fri­day after­noon around 5, a con­cerned cit­i­zen brought a sus­pi­cious item into their Angola office. That item turned out to be an impro­vised explo­sive device. The Indi­ana State Police Bomb Squad was called in to dis­pose of the device, which was report­edly found along a rural road in the south­west part of the county.

The Sheriff’s Depart­ment is request­ing that if you locate a sus­pi­cious item, con­tact law enforce­ment and do not touch or move it. No word on just what that item was, and the inves­ti­ga­tion is ongoing.
