One angry Chinese person on the other side of the world is believed to have brought down the city’s internet over the weekend. The Bryan Municipal Utilities Communications Department was hit with a series of Denial of Service attacks Saturday through Tuesday, with the online attacker using software to flood the city server with requests to authenticate invalid return addresses, causing disruptions in service for BMU customers. Officials say the city itself was not the target. The motive for the attack has yet to be determined.
