In Defiance, police today continue their investigation into a pedestrian/train accident that happened early Sunday morning. It was just after 1am Sunday, at the railroad crossing at Ottawa Avenue, when 36 year old William Southam Jr of Hamler, was reportedly walking south on Ottawa Avenue, when for some reason, he stepped into the path of an oncoming CSX train. Southam was taken to Mercy Defiance Hospital, then transferred to a Toledo area hospital. No update today on his condition.
