Jade Herzog remains in custody in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio in Stryker where Bryan Municipal Court Judge Kent North set bond at $100,000 during his initial appearance Thursday afternoon. Herzog was arrested after he lost control of a vehicle and crashed into a ditch on County Road O. Authorities allege that he was trying to ram a deputy’s cruiser with a stolen Chevy S-10 pickup truck during a high-speed chase. It was his second attempt and he was driving his fourth stolen vehicle. After he escaped from the Hillsdale County jail, Herzog was identified as a suspect in a vehicle theft from Stryker and a home invasion in Kunkle, both on Dec. 29.
