Janice LaVerne Scott (Chesney), 78

Janice LaVerne Scott (Chesney), 78, of Wausean was called to Heaven on February 14, 2017. With her daughter, Cindy Chesney, holding her hand, she passed on peacefully. Jan came into this world on a kitchen table to James and Florence Chesney (Gibson) on January 14, 1939 in Tennessee.

She is preceded in death by both parents and her sister, Joyce Annette Chesney A.K.A. Jeannie Corbett. (Behave girls. It’s time to kiss and make up!) Survived by her children; Cindy Chesney, Anne Thomson (Brian) and Milton “Buzz” Boggs Jr. (Terri); Grandchildren: Jamie Veres, Cathie Veres, Dr. Michael Veres and Cooper and Tucker Boggs; and one great-grandchild; Katie “Katydid” Veres; and her husband Robert Scott Sr.

Throughout her life she made many friends and built her own extended family, some of which are Pastor Jason Clutter (Valerie) and kids; Mary Ann Beaton and family; Fran and Elden Hartzell; Jo Ann Franks; her friends at Northwest Veterinary Hospital; the helpful people at Don’s Cadillac; with a special thank you to Janice Pennington. We also want to thank the loving nurses at Flower Hospital’s ICU for treating Jan with dignity, respect and kindness while keeping her comfortable during her final hours. A savvy businesswoman, willing advice giver, animal lover, cancer survivor, gardener, expert flower smeller, genealogy explorer and kindhearted woman, Jan will remain in the hearts of all who knew her. “Find what makes you happy in life and do it.” -Jan.

The will be no services. Burial will be private in Toledo Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers please donate to an animal rescue and hug your family and friends tight. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon has been entrusted with arrangements.
