Janice Menchhofer, 66

Adrian—Janice Elaine (Butler) Menchhofer was called home on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Hospice of Lenawee, Adrian, MI.  She was born on September 28, 1947 to William Robert ‘Bob’ Butler and Florence (England) Butler.  She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ronald D. Hughes, and brother, Kenneth E. Hughes, and granddaughter, Morgan Ewing.

Janice lived in Sandusky, OH from 1964-2000 doing numerous secretarial jobs.  She then moved to Northwest, OH to be closer to her daughters.  She most recently worked at Faith United Methodist Church, Bryan OH as a secretary, and was a volunteer for Salvation Army for nearly a decade where she served those in the community with compassion and mercy.  She shared her faith and love for the Lord through her kind and gracious spirit with her family, friends and caregivers.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tami (Phil) Baker, Alvordton, OH, Kim Baker, Hillsdale, MI, Renee (Dave Koester) Menchhofer, Oakland, CA and Barb (Jason) Ewing, High Point, NC; along with her grandchildren, Kyle, Lauren and Abbey Baker and Logan and “Baby Kate” Ewing.  She is also survived by her brother, Robert “Nick” Butler (Stephanie), a half brother, Robert ‘Bobbie’ Butler, Sandusky, OH; a nephew, Nicholas Butler, Huron, OH  and a niece, Natasha Noftz, Charleston, SC.

At Janice’s request, cremation has taken place.  A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m.      Saturday, May 10, 2014 at Faith United Methodist Church, Bryan, OH with Pastor Jeffery Dye officiating.  A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 a.m. July 12, 2014, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Hillsdale, MI.   Interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery, Sandusky, OH.
