Jean E. Unger, 92

Jean E. Unger, age 92, of rural Bryan, Ohio, died at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at SKLD HealthCare, Bryan Facility, where she was a resident, surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. Mrs. Unger was a graduate of Bryan High School and was employed at various jobs after high school, including clerking for Judge Maxwell at the Williams County Courthouse in Bryan. She also worked at Manco/Beam Stream in Montpelier, Ohio, and finished her working career at Robinair Manufacturing, also in Montpelier, retiring with twenty-two years of service. She was a lifelong member of Melbern United Methodist Church, where she was the church pianist for more than forty years and was active in the Mary Martha Circle.

Jean E. Unger was born on December 23, 1927, in Bryan, Ohio, the daughter of Howard Roy and Cecil (Williams) Slife. She married Walter S. Unger II on June 5, 1949, at the Melbern United Methodist Church, and he preceded her in death on October 20, 2000.

Mrs. Unger is survived by three sons, Thomas (Pam) Unger, of Toledo, Ohio, Charles (Cheryl) Unger, of Harlan, Indiana, and Robert Unger, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; ten grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one stepbrother, James White.

Due to pandemic restrictions, private services will be held in the Krill Funeral Home, 114 East Hull Street, Edgerton, Ohio. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Edgerton.

Memorials are requested to the Williams County Humane Society or the Melbern United Methodist Church.
