Jennie E. Watson, 88

Jennie E. Watson, age 88, of Montpelier, Ohio, died at 8:59 A.M. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Hillside Country Living near Bryan, Ohio, where she was a resident. Mrs. Watson was a 1945 graduate of Edgerton High School and had worked for The Ohio Art Company as a secretary and also worked alongside her husband, Creighton, in the family business, Watson Well Drilling. She was formerly a long-time member of Lick Creek Church of the Brethren, where she founded a group called the “Blanketeers,” which made blankets that were donated to Sarah’s House and to members of the congregation. She then became a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she continued to make blankets for donation.

Jennie E. Watson was born on March 25, 1927, in Hamilton, Indiana, the daughter of Arthur and Margaret (Hopkins) Schieber. She married William Creighton Watson on April 8, 1949, in Bryan and he preceded her in death on February 14, 2005.

Survivors include two sons, Tom (Barb) Watson, of Montpelier, and Jim (Cathy) Watson, of Bryan; one daughter, Nancy (Jack) Snyder, of Bryan, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Howard Schieber; two sisters, Wilma Beavers and Patricia Karlstadt; and one great-grandson, Tyler James Prusnek.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016, from 3:00-7:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan. Services will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Bryan with Pastor Dorothy Ritchey-Moore and Reverend Becky Scholfield Motter officiating. Interment will follow in Shiffler Cemetery near Bryan.

Memorials are requested to Wesley United Methodist Church or to Sarah’s House.
