Jerold R. Armstrong, 86

Jerold R. Armstrong, age 86, of  Bryan, Ohio, passed away at 7:12 A.M. on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Community Hospitals and Wellness Center- Bryan. Jerry worked in advertising for Bryan Publishing for over 40 years.  He served in the Ohio Army National Guard for 6 years.  Jerry was a member of the Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233, Bryan VFW Post 2489 and the Bryan Moose Lodge 1064.

Jerold R. Armstrong was born on October 20, 1936, in Oak Shade, Ohio, the son of William P. and Myrtle M. (Leninger) Armstrong. He graduated from Wauseon High School.  Jerry married Bernadine Kreiger on April 9, 1955 and she preceded him in death on December 31, 1983.  He later married Patricia Morgan on April 22, 2006 and she survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Debra Christman, of Bryan, Ricky Armstrong, of San Antonio, Texas, Annette Eberly, of Bryan; Bradley Armstrong, of Edgerton, and Jamie (Bill) Pursel, of Wauseon; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; infant children, Donna and David Armstrong, first wife, Bernadine Armstrong; daughter-in law, Shelley Armstrong; grandsons, Dominic and Kyle Murray and brothers, Michael and William Armstrong.

Grave side services will be held at Brown Cemetery, Bryan on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. with military rites presented by the combined Bryan American Legion/VFW Honor Detail.  A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at the Bryan VFW, 709 South Walnut Street, Bryan from 2:00-4:00 P.M. following the grave side service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Krill Funeral Service, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan.

Memorials are requested to the family for a combined memorial donation.
