Joanne Luderman, 67 years, of Sherwood, passed away Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. Jo was born August 26, 1946 in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of the late V. Dewey and Glendora (Aumick) Schlosser. She married Ronald W. Luderman on June 29, 1968 at St. John Lutheran Church, Sherwood, and they were married for 45 years. Jo was a machine operator for the former Dana Corporation, Archbold for 18 years, retiring in 2009. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Defiance, where she found her calling as manager of the food pantry. Jo desired to care for those less fortunate and had the passion to feed the world.
Surviving is her husband Ronald of Sherwood; six children, Susie Vorthman of Defiance, Tina Lawson of Defiance, Lori Jenkins of Findlay, Ohio, Robert W. Luderman of Buckeye Lake, Ohio, Steven (Mary) Luderman of Harlan, Indiana and Terry Luderman of Sherwood; 17 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; one brother, Skip (Rose) Schlosser of Vilonia, Arkansas; six sisters, Vivian (Ray) Tack of Jasper, Michigan, Marge (Charles) Miller of Defiance, Elaine Carpenter of Defiance, Sandy (Larry) Joost of Mark Center, Penny (Calvin) Whitfield of Haleyville, Alabama and June (Ron) Crosser of Hicksville. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Theodore “Ted” Schlosser and her sister-in-law, Pearl Schlosser
Visitation for Jo Luderman will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood. Visitation will continue on Friday, September 27, 2013 at St. John Lutheran Church, 655 Wayne Avenue, Defiance beginning at 9:30 a.m. followed by her Funeral services at beginning at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 27, 2013 in the church with Rev. Donald H. Luhring officiating. Interment will be private.
