Jobs Improve In MI

Jobless rates are dropping around Southwest Michigan. St. Joseph County’s unemployment rate went from 5.1 percent in July to 4.4 percent in August. That is the largest decrease in the area. Branch County dropped from 5.5 in July to an even 5 percent in August. Hillsdale County saw their jobless rate decrease from 5.9 to 5.4, while Cass County dropped from 5.1 to 4.7 percent. Statewide, the jobless rate was also down from 4.9 percent to 4.6.
