John Louis Burkholder, passed away February 22, 2018 in his home at the age of 63 years old. John was an employee of Sauder Woodworking for 25 years.
John was born on August 9, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio, the son of Robert Louis and Mary (Timar) Burkholder. On September 8, 1978, John married the love of his life Joanna (Miller) and she survives. John had many passions in his life, including baseball, especially rooting for his New York Yankees, fantasy baseball, sitting around campfires, playing cards, and his grandchildren’s activities and high school sports. John was a family man.
Surviving besides his wife are three children; daughter, Tamara (Luke) Ankney; son, Thomas (Erica) Burkholder; and son, Timothy (Ashley) Burkholder. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Xander, Reese, Lucas Jr., Ezri, Oliver, Tristan, Emma, and Henry. John is also survived by his brother, Robert Joseph (Jenny) Burkholder of Fayette, Ohio. John was preceded in death by his parents, a niece, and grandson, Whittaker.
Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 am on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at St. Caspar Catholic Church in Wauseon, Ohio with Father Dave Bruning, officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Caspar Cemetery in Wauseon. Friends may call to the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon for visitation on Monday, February 26, 2018 from 2-8 pm. The family asks that monetary contributions be made to the Wauseon Summer Dive and Swim Program (checks made payable to Joanna Burkholder).
