Julia M. “Judy” Swary, 93

Julia M. “Judy” Swary, 93 years, of Hamilton, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Betz Nursing Home, Auburn, where she was a resident. Judy was born February 22, 1923 in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of the late Dasky and Lucille (Crane) Hale. She married Paul Levi Swary in 1941, and he preceded her in death on August 30, 1971. Judy was a homemaker, but she had previously worked at Universal Tool in Butler for 30 years. Judy enjoyed sewing, making various crafts and working puzzles. She also cherished the time she was able to spend with her family.

Surviving are her two daughters, Linda Carrigan of Auburn and Shirley (Jerry) Fee also of Auburn; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul and two sons, Dennis Swary and David Swary; three sisters, Alta Yaw, Bonnie Hale and Betty Breiner; two brothers, Wilbur and Floyd Hale.

Funeral services for Julia M. “Judy” Swary will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2016 in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 3985 East Church Street, Hamilton, where family and friends may visit two hours prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Thursday. Interment will follow in Eddy Cemetery, rural Hamilton.

Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be given to the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department or to the Hamilton United Methodist Church.
