Ken Wortkoetter, 54

Kenneth “Ken” J. Wortkoetter, age 54, of Bryan, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 26, 2014 at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio following a sudden medical emergency. Ken was the owner of Fun Zone Distributers which had become very successful in the past couple years. He had also worked at Spangler Candy Company, was Chief Financial Officer at The Enrichment Center, was the Human Resource Manager at Cooper Hatchery, was a Real Estate Broker, was a property owner and landlord in the Bryan area and served on the Northwest Ohio Affordable Housing Board for many years. Ken was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Bryan Moose #1064, Bryan Eagles #2233. He was a long time member of the Bryan Jaycees, had earned his Eagle Scout in 1976 and later became a Scout Master. Ken also was the founder of the “Growing Up In Bryan, Ohio” and “Citizens For A Better Williams County” Facebook pages.

Kenneth Joseph Wortkoetter was born December 15, 1960, in Bryan, Ohio the son of Richard A. and Wilma C. (McCann) Wortkoetter. He graduated from Bryan High School in 1979 and received an Associate Degree from Northwest State Community College. He married Christine J. (Carpenter) on August 14, 2004 in Bryan, and she survives.

Also surviving are Ken’s daughters, Melissa Cramer, of Atlanta, Georgia, Charity Cramer, of Jackson, Michigan and Gabrial Cramer, of Montpelier, Ohio; six grandchildren, Alexis Cramer, Courtney Seckman, Salone Cramer, Payton Seckman, Taevian Saxton and Akira Saxton; his mother, Wilma C. Wortkoetter, of Bryan; brother, Donald (Cathy) Wortkoetter, of Ravenna, Ohio; sister, Mary (James) Newman, of Ravenna, Ohio, niece, Megan Yoney and nephew, Cody Yoney, both of Kent, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard A. Wortkoetter in 2002.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Ken on Friday, January 2, 2015, at 10:30 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bryan with Father James Halleron officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-7:30P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, 860 West Mulberry Street, Bryan, Ohio. A Rosary service will be held at 7:30 P.M., following visitation.

Memorials in the name of Ken Wortkoetter may be given to QUADCO.
