Kenneth A. Idle, 85

Kenneth A. Idle, 85 years, of Bryan, entered his eternal home, Thursday, October 22, 2020, in his residence, with his family with him.  Kenny was born May 16, 1935, in Elwood, Indiana, the son of the late William and Orpha (Dellinger) Idle.  He was a 1953 graduate of Frankton High School, Frankton, Indiana.  He married Flo Ann Updegraff on January 2, 1954, in Elwood, Indiana, and she survives.  Kenny was an insurance adjuster for Nationwide Insurance Company until his retirement in 1995.  He was a member of the Bryan First Church of Christ.  He served as a Past President of the Lake Area Evangelizing Association.  Kenny enjoyed golfing, taking walks, Indiana Hoosier Basketball and searching for orphaned golf balls.  He also enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states in addition to the Holy Land.  He treasured the time he spent with his family creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Surviving is his wife, Flo Ann Idle of Bryan, Ohio; four children, Deb (Pastor George) Kreger of Bryan, Ohio, Pastor Steve (Jody) Idle of Louisville, Kentucky, Joni Parks of Bryan, Ohio and Pastor Rod (Gay) Idle of Chesterfield, Virginia;  13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Howard Idle; four sisters, Leota Fowler, Thelma Robfogel, Charlotte Williams and Mildred Mauck.

Visitation for Kenneth A. Idle will be held Sunday, October 25, 2020 from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan.  Private family funeral services will be held Monday, October 26, 2020 in the funeral home with Pastors Larry Snavley, Steve Idle and Rod Idle officiating.  Public committal services will begin at 12:30 p.m. in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan, Ohio.  Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing guidelines will be observed.  Those who attend the visitation on Sunday, or the graveside service on Monday, are asked to wear a facial covering or face mask.  The funeral service will be live streamed on the Oberlin-Turnbull Facebook page on Monday beginning at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to Bryan First Church of Christ, 129 North Walnut Street, Bryan, Ohio 43506 or to Elara Caring Hospice, 3425 Executive Parkway, Toledo, Ohio, 43606.
