Kenneth R. Sleesman, 81

Kenneth “Butch” Sleesman, age 81, of Edgerton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home with
his wife, Marilyn, of 48 years at his bedside, at 6:30 P.M. on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Kenneth
was a 1959 graduate of Edgerton High School. He was employed by the Edgerton Police
Department, Continental Tire, and eventually retired from L.E. Smith in 2006. Kenneth was a
former member of the Stryker Fire Department, Edgerton Masonic Lodge 357, Edgerton
Methodist Church, Life Changing Church, and charter member of the Edgerton EMS. He served
on the Edgerton Tree Commission and served as the President of the board of directors at
Walden Woods Community Association.

Kenneth was an avid woodworker who enjoyed crafting many projects for his family. He also
was a lover of the outdoors, who enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved spending time with his
family, especially grandchildren.

Kenneth Sleesman was born on July 10, 1941, in Milford Township, Ohio, the son of Kenneth R.
and Virginia (Irwin) Sleesman. He married Marilyn A. Cupp-Sherman on December 19, 1974, at
Edgerton Methodist Church and she survives.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Jeff (Missy) Sleesman, of Edgerton, Kenneth J.
Sleesman, of Toledo, and Anthony Sleesman, of Hicksville; one daughter, Debra (John) Bushong, of Pioneer, Ohio; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren, with one on the way; one brother, LeRoy Sleesman, of Bryan; and three sisters, Barbara Sleesman, of Texas, Mary Sleesman, of Texas, and Susan Greenwalt, of Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Margaret Sleesman; one brother, Clair Sleesman; one son, Rick Sherman; and one great-grandson, Kyler Huffman.

There will be no services at this time.
