Lake Gage Accident Trial Update

20 year-old Dominique Effinger of Fort Wayne, made her first appearance in court following her arrest in connection with a Lake Gage boating accident. The July 15 incident threw several people from a ski boat that left some injured. She waived a formal reading of the charges made against her in court and entered a not guilty plea. A pretrial conference was schedule for October 2. Court officials set a January trial date that will likely change due to the amount of evidence involved. Officials on the case think a trial could last at least three days.
