Republican, Bob Latta is re-elected as Congress’s representative for Ohio’s 5th District. Latta got 65 percent of district residents’ votes, compared to 32 for J. Michael Galbraith, a Democrat from Maumee. Republican, Jim Hoops won the 81st District seat for the Ohio House of Representatives. Hoops, the incumbent, beat Democratic challenger Janet Breneman, of West Unity, with 74 percent of the vote. In Williams County, Hoops won just over 70 percent of the vote.
