Legislators at the Ohio Statehouse are taking a good look at Gov. John Kasich’s proposed budget for the next biennium, and will be considering adjustments to the governor’s plan. Kasich’s proposed budget includes General Revenue Funds (GRF) of $33.1 billion in fiscal year 2018 and $33.8 billion in fiscal year 2019. His budget also includes a reshuffling of revenue sources that includes a reduction in state income taxes and significant increases in consumption taxes. In his proposed budget, Kasich offered a 17-percent income tax reduction.
