Lelah Kathryn Jackson, 83

Lelah Kathryn Jackson, 83, of Hicksville, Ohio, peacefully passed into the arms of her Savior, Sunday, September 17, 2023, in the emergency room of Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville.  Lelah was born June 25, 1940, in Paulding County, Ohio, the daughter of the late John Franklin and Ila Dean (Starkey) Beatty.  She was a 1958 graduate of Paulding High School.  She had been married to Thomas Jackson, and then Edward Jackson, and both preceded her in death.  Lelah worked as a cook and dishwasher at the former Vagabond Village in Cecil, Ohio, retiring in 2018.  She had previously worked at the former Rowan Lumber Company in Hicksville.  Lelah loved sewing, cooking, canning, and animals of all kinds, including her birds.

Lelah is survived by her two daughters, Cindy Jackson of Tennessee and Cheryl DeLaCruz of Hicksville; five grandchildren, Nicole (Jared) Headley of Harlan, Indiana, Bree Park of Tennessee, Dena Hall of Toledo, Ohio, Vicenta (Gerald) Armfield of Kokomo, Indiana, and Brett (Erika) Krider of Colorado Springs, Colorado; six great-grandchildren, Luke Zartman, Aviana Toliver, Mackenzie Hall, Bodhi Krider, Easton Krider and Aria Krider; three sisters, Jo Ann Singer of Sherwood, Ohio, Mary Ellen Retcher of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Esther Mae Scoggins of Pauline, South Carolina; and one brother, John Franklin Beatty, Jr of Alaska.  She was preceded in death by her two husbands; one daughter, Carol Goller, and one brother, Daniel Duane Beatty

There will be no public visitation.  Graveside funeral services for Lelah Kathryn Jackson will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Rochester Cemetery, Cecil, Ohio, with Pastor Mike Nickols officiating.  Arrangements are under the care of Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville.
