Lenore “Honey” McQuillin, 89

Lenore “Honey” McQuillin of Delta, Ohio passed away peacefully on Good Friday, April 2, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Honey was born on January 23, 1932 to Henry (dec.) and Isabel (dec.) (Steinbrecher) Lind. Her nickname came from her dad calling her his Honey girl. She was the sister of Laurence (dec.) (Stazy) Lind and Louise (Robert) Gilson. On November 23, 1950 she married Clarence Elden McQuillin (dec.), nicknamed Buck. From that union came her pride and joy of four children: Mary Jane (Mike) Storeholder, Marilyn (Roger) DeMond, Rex (Joan) McQuillin, and Tim (Ellie) McQuillin.

Surviving Honey are her six grandchildren: Scott (Missy MCullough) Storeholder, Joshua (Nishi) DeMond, Justin (JoDee) DeMond, Melissa (Dustin Hawk) McQuillin, Jessica (Scott) Keller, Tim McQuillin, Jr.; three step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Honey was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Wauseon for most of her life and taught Sunday School for about 35 years to preschoolers that included her son, nephews, nieces, and grandchildren. Honey delivered Meals on Wheels for several years.

Honey was outside more than inside and grew vegetables, fruits, and flowers that she shared with others. She had a great sense of humor, sassy comebacks, and enjoyed country music and line dancing. Honey loved riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle during the summer and decorating her home for the Christmas holidays. Honey was always baking delicious cakes and decorating them for family and friends’ birthdays and weddings.

The family thanks Browning Masonic Pathways staff for the loving care they gave Honey during her dementia years and Ohio Living for the compassionate care provided to Honey and her family.

Funeral services will be private and in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the donor’s preferred organization or charity. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.grisierfh.com. Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home is honored to serve the McQuillin family.
