LeRoy George, 92

LeRoy A. George, age 92, of Napoleon and formerly of Delta passed away Sunday June 23, 2014 at Northcrest Nursing Home in Napoleon following an extended illness. He worked for the former Panhandle Eastern Pipeline in Maintenance for 24 years prior to his retirement.

Mr. George was born in Delta on July 26, 1920 the son of the late Leon and the late Georgie (Foster) George. He was married to the former Dollie Gordon Beck and she preceded him in death in 1979. He was a charter member of the Delta Eagles where he served as President from 1945 until the end of his term in 1962. His hobby was collecting Eagle decanters which he then donated to the Eagles Lodge in Delta.

He leaves to mourn his passing grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Preceding him in death besides his parents were two brothers; Lyle and Marion George and two sisters; Marguerite George and Meredith Herrich.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Thursday June 27, 2013 at the Grisier Funeral Home in Delta with Pastor Don Krieger officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00-8:00pm on Wednesday.
