Lois Baldwin, 92

Lois Sue (Hane) Baldwin, age 92, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice. Lois was born in Pioneer, Ohio on December 27, 1922 to John and Foryst (Connelly) Hane. She married Francis Omer Baldwin on January 11, 1942 and he preceded her in death.

Lois graduated from Pioneer High School in 1941 and attended International Business College. She worked at the Hane’s Insurance Agency in Montpelier while her husband served in the Army and then moved to their Tiffin Township farm in 1945 where they farmed until 1999. Lois also worked for several years at the Shaker Shop in Bryan.

Lois was the family historian and keeper of the family genealogy. She enjoyed singing in the choirs at Evansport United Methodist Church, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and Morrison’s United Methodist Church in Leesburg, Fla. They spent winters at Tavares, Fla. Lois had served as Secretary and Treasure of the VFW and was a founding member of the Defiance County Kidney Association.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Barbara Baldwin and siblings, Elinor Frappier, Eloise McBride, and James Hane. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, daughter Ruth Baldwin and siblings, JJ Hane, Doris Kelley, and William Hane.

Graveside services for Lois will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at the Evansport Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M. at Evansport United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jeff Motter, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Union Chapel Church of God Building Fund, the Evansport United Methodist Church Building Fund or Wesley United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Grisier Funeral Home, Stryker, Ohio.
