Man Accused of Making Death Threats Against Public Official Arrested.

An investigation conducted by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation led to the arrest of a 30-year-old Zanesville man who allegedly made threats against Noble County Sheriff Jason Mackie’s life.

Tyler Eschman was arrested Thursday on charges stemming from an investigation by BCI’s Special Investigations Unit. He was arraigned today and held on a $100,000 bond.

Eschman, who was arrested on an outstanding warrant for an unrelated matter, was initially charged in Noble County Court with intimidation, a third-degree felony, and menacing by stalking, a fourth-degree felony.

The Noble County Prosecutor’s Office is handling the case.

The investigation remains ongoing.
