A man who shot and killed a 15-year-old girl in March 2024 accepted a plea deal Wednesday. 19 year old Robert Shields III, entered an Alford plea and was found guilty of aggravated burglary and murder in the death of 15-year-old Jaylah Perry. Shields had been in an on-again, off-again relationship with Jaylah when he forced his way into her home in north Toledo on March 17, 2024, according to the Lucas County Prosecutor’s Office. Shields and Jaylah had a dispute over alleged infidelity, and he ultimately shot her.
