Marlene Ward, 79

Marlene J. Ward, age 79, of Delta, passed away Monday, September 21, 2015, in her home. Marlene had been the Delta area carrier agency for The Toledo Blade for 30 years. She had also worked at Montgomery Ward for 25 years.

Marlene was born in Fulton County, Ohio on November 8, 1935, the daughter of Donald and Helen (Houchin) Dailey. On July 24, 1955 she married Douglas D. Ward, and he survives. She was a member of the Delta United Methodist Church, where she had taught Sunday School. She enjoyed camping, canoeing, and hunting for mushrooms up north. She also was a Delta representative for the Welcome Wagon.

Surviving besides her husband, Douglas, are their children, Rennae (Joe) Ward of Philadelphia, PA, Mark (Roxann) Ward of Atlanta, GA, Gordon Ward of Delta and Rodger (Jeanne) Ward of Delta; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brother, Richard (Carole) Dailey of Toledo and sister, Cheryl (Butch) Zimmerman of Delta. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hal Dailey; and sister, Carolyn Korte.

Visitation for Marlene will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Friday, September 25, 2015 at the Grisier Funeral Home in Delta. Visitation will resume on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Delta United Methodist Church, where the funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Teresa Wenrick, officiating.
