Mary Helen Haver, 86

Mary Helen Haver, 86 years, of Hicksville, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville, with her daughters at her side. Mary Helen was born June 5, 1936, in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of the late Henry and Lucille (Northrup) Herzer. She was a graduate of Mark Center High School. She married Donald D. Haver on May 11, 1956, in Angola, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on September 24, 2012. Mary Helen worked for the Ohio Art Company, Bryan, Ohio, as an assembler for over 20 years. She loved to garden, tending to her flowers, and decorating her home was always important to her. Mary Helen loved living the “lake life” at her cottage on Lake George and taking long golf cart rides. She treasured her family and the time she spent with them creating memories.

Surviving are her two daughters, Dawn (Tom) Thatcher of Mark Center, and DeAnn (Greg) Robie of Holland, Ohio; one grandson, Gavin Robie of Chicago, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Lucille; husband, Donald; one brother, infant Eugene Herzer.

A visitation for Mary Helen Haver will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022, from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 706 North Main Street, Hicksville. Funeral services for Mary Helen will follow at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, in the funeral home with Celebrant Patricia Peter officiating. Interment will follow in Lost Creek Cemetery.
