Mary Rose Dell, 72 years, of Sherwood, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Fulton County Health Center, Wauseon. Mary was born April 28, 1941 in Defiance, Ohio, the daughter of the late Donald Joseph and Mary Catherine (Limpach) Froelich. Mary was a 1959 graduate of Defiance High School. She married John Henry Dell on August 25, 1962 in Defiance, Ohio, and he preceded her in death on March 13, 2013. Mary was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and took great pride in caring for her family. She was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church and the Rosary Altar Society. Mary was also a member of TOPS where she served as a Past President. Mary could best be described as a soft spoken woman that had a strong faith and a delightful wit. She was well known as a beautiful knitter and made many sweaters, afghans and baby blankets which she gave to countless individuals.
Surviving are her four children, Rita Dell of Wauseon, Catherine (Craig) Sheets of Berkey, Ohio, Charlene (Shawn) Patane of Syracuse, New York and Andrew Dell of Bryan; seven grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; three brothers, Charles (Sophia) Froelich of Bellevue, Michigan, Ray Froelich of Luckey, Ohio and Roger Froelich of Defiance, Ohio; one sister, Karen (Christopher) Graham of Fayetteville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John, daughter, Donna Jean Dell and one sister, Ruth Froelich.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, 230 East Elm Street, Sherwood where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening. Funeral Mass for Mary Rose Dell will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2014 at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Marysdale, 06324 State Route 15, Defiance, Ohio with Father Robert J. Kill officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Cemetery.
