Mary Ruth Yoder, 79

Mary Ruth Yoder, 79, formerly of St. Joe, Indiana, and currently of Fort Wayne, Indiana, left this world unexpectedly on February 19, 2024. Mary was born June 3, 1944, in Camas, Washington, daughter of the late Malcolm and Thelma (Crisp) Timmons. Mary was a graduate of Sheridan Union High School, Denver, Colorado. She married Edward Yoder on January 2, 1962, in Denver, Colorado, and he preceded her in death on August 1, 2021. Mary retired as a production manager at Zeller Corporation where she worked for many years and was a rural mail carrier with the Hicksville Post Office for 15 years following that. She was a member of Central Ministries, Fort Wayne. In her free time, Mary enjoyed watching Westerns, completing puzzles, and being with her sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are her two sons, Edward M. (Julia Zhao) Yoder of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and John H. (Yazmiret Rodriguez) Yoder of Dublin, Texas; daughter-in-law Wendy Yoder of Columbia City, Indiana; five grandchildren: Todd (Tiffany Meyers) Yoder of Evansville, Indiana, Jacob (Emily) Yoder of Butler, Indiana, Justin Yoder of Fort Wayne, Madison (Nathan) Halliburton of Columbia City, Indiana and Ke (Jenny Chen) Xu of Sunnyvale, California; three great-grandchildren, Matthew Halliburton, Rowan Halliburton and Leo Chen-Xu; three siblings, Pearl Crumpler of Davis, California, Judy Brown of Haskell, Oklahoma, and Oscar Timmons of Daphne, Alabama.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of nearly 60 years, Edward; and two siblings, Vivian Sanders, and James Timmons.

Visitation for Mary Ruth Yoder will be held Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Hicksville Mennonite Church, 237 West Arthur Street, Hicksville, Ohio 43526. Funeral services for Mary will be held Friday, February 23, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. at the church with Pastor Eldon Delagrange officiating. Burial will follow in Scipio Cemetery, Harlan, Indiana.
