Defiance Mayor Bob Armstrong announced that he plans to seek a fourth term. The 72 year old Democrat announced on Wednesday that he planned to pick up his nominating petitions for the May primary.
The mayor’s race will be decided in the November general election, and if re-elected, Armstrong will serve another four year term beginning in January of 2016.
The Crescent News reports that as of when the November 2015 election is held, Armstrong will be 73, and that will make him 77 at the end of the next four-year mayoral term. Armstrong told the paper that he is not deterred by age and he is healthy, and enjoys being mayor.
