Millcreek-West Unity Students To Receive Chromebooks

Here come the computers!

The Millcreek-West Unity Board of Education on Tuesday approved an agreement to provide some computers for students.

The district agreed to get 300 Chromebooks, enough for every student in grades 7–12. The total amount of the lease is $94,291, with the first year being paid through grant funds.

Students will have full use of the Chromebooks and turn them in at the end of the school year.

Many other school districts across the state and nationally are also moving forward with computers for students. School officials say computers will enhance educational opportunities for students in all walks of life.

Educators across the country say computers are so integrated into daily life, that education isn’t really complete anymore without them. Now, more local students will be able to move up and compete on that level.
