A Monday morning crash has claimed the life of a Fremont, Indiana woman. The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department said they responded to a crash just after 8 a.m. Monday on 750 N East of 700 E in Steuben County. Upon arrival Officers observed a red 2005 Toyota Matrix that had been operated by 40 years old Alicia Christine Treat from Fremont, IN. Treat had been Eastbound on 750 N east of 700 E when she lost control of her vehicle on the snow covered roadway. Treat left the roadway on the Southside and struck two trees on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Treat died at the scene from blunt force trauma. Treat was wearing a seatbelt and the air bags did deploy. Alcohol is not considered to be a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
