Montpelier Chief of Police Presents Annual Report

McGee Reports

Montpelier Chief of Police Dan McGee presented the 2022 annual report for the Police Department during the Village Council meeting. He praised the 18 members of the reserve staff and their commitment and contributions to the force by working a combined 734 hours over the past year. As a whole, the Montpelier PD logged 114 hours of community service, with 85 being off-duty hours. Calls for service were at 4,002, down from 4,307 in 2021. The most common calls for service were traffic warnings (621) and medical assists (255). A change in the way the department reports crime is still a work in progress but is headed in the right direction, McGee said. The Montpelier Police Department also patrols in Holiday City, where they received 258 calls for service.
