Montpelier Water A “Winner”

The old saying goes something like this… “it’s in the water.” In Montpelier, that seems to be the truth.

Once again, Montpelier’s water has been deemed award winning. It placed fourth at this year’s Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting event in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.

It’s not the first time that Montpelier’s water has been so honored. The Bryan Times reports that the water also came in first in 2003, 2006 and 2007. In addition to that, it has also placed second, third, and fourth a number of times.

It’s a real credit to the excellent groundwater in Williams County according to Montpelier Water Treatment Plant employees, who say the only thing they do that many other are municipalities don’t, is a lime softening process, in which excess calcium and magnesium and iron are all removed in one process, giving the water a kind of sweet taste.

Hamilton, Ohio’s water came in first.
