More Ohioans may be eligible to receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. This is because changes are being made in terms of who meets the criteria to receive food assistance. Wood County Jobs and Family Services eligibility referral supervisor, Rebeka Shiffert, said it’s called broad-based categorically eligible individuals. Residency, social security number, citizenship, if an individual is receiving social security disability or has been deemed disabled. They also look at living expenses, and certain other expenses, depending on what their living situation is.
