Mrs. Dolores (Bobbie) Teopas Black, 91

Mrs. Dolores (Bobbie) Teopas Black, age 91, of Simpsonville, South Carolina and formerly of Sylvania, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2021, surrounded by family at her daughters’ home in Camden, Michigan.

She was born August 2, 1929, in Toledo, Ohio, the youngest daughter of the late James Teopas and Edna (Bodie) Teopas.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her best friend and husband of 57 years, Richard (Dick) A. Black, and her three siblings: Paul Teopas, Elaine Schuchert, and Georgia Papenfuss.  Bobbie is survived by one sister, Jeannette VanWingerden.

Bobbie was most proud of her family. Being Greek, she had a large, intimate family, whom she faithfully and generously served for the majority of her life. She loved to laugh, spend time with family and would never pass up a good dessert. Bobbie also loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She was a devoted and caring mother to five children: Pamela Hale (Morton), Kim Parker (Bill), Scott Black (Merin), Tracey Hill, and Paula Blackmon (Tommy), and a fun, affectionate Gram to 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

A special thank you to all family and friends for their love and support, including Hospice of Hillsdale County.

Bobbie will be laid to rest at a private graveside service at Toledo Memorial Park in Sylvania, Ohio.

In remembrance of Bobbie’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made in her honor to Back2Back Ministries or Hospice of Hillsdale County (details below).
