Nancy Ann Cliffton, 83

Nancy Ann Cliffton, 83 years, of Montpelier, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Mercy Health St. Anne’s Hospital, Toledo.  Nancy was born December 21, 1936, in Montpelier, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Mary (Bishop) Clark.  She was a 1954 graduate of Montpelier High School.  Nancy married Jerry R. Cliffton on March 4, 1961, in Montpelier, and he preceded her in death on May 18, 2019.  Nancy worked as a custodian and cafeteria worker for the Montpelier Exempted Village Schools.  She was a member of the Montpelier Moose Lodge and the Montpelier Eagles Aerie.  She enjoyed crocheting, but truly treasured the time she could spend with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving are her seven children, Julie Austin of Montpelier, Sharon Arps of Napoleon, Richard (Kathy) Cliffton of Montpelier, Nathan (Susan) Cliffton of Montpelier, Matthew (Tonja) Cliffton of Edgerton, Trisha (Gary) Russell of Pioneer and Amber (Brian) Rogers of Bryan; 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; five siblings, Mary Jane Faber of Edgerton, Lynette Dull of Butler, Indiana, Jeanette Presley of Angola, Indiana, Lucy Koch of Bryan and George Clark of The Villages, Florida.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jerry; six siblings, Lloyd Clark Jr., John Clark Sr., Loretta Middleton, Faith Shraull, Marcena Ruetz and Hope Gutowski.

Visitation for Nancy Ann Cliffton will be held Saturday, August 22, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home, Lynn Street Chapel, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, where funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry Snavely officiating.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier.  Social distancing will be observed and people attending must wear a facial covering or mask.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions be made to the Montpelier Parks Department – Summer Lunch Program.
