Napoleon Accepts Resignation

Napoleon City Coun­cil on Mon­day evening, accepted the res­ig­na­tion of Coun­cil­man Patrick McCol­ley fol­low­ing his sub­mis­sion of a let­ter of res­ig­na­tion to the city on Feb. 26.

The per­son­nel com­mit­tee will meet this evening at 6:30 to dis­cuss it, and also, accord­ing to the Cres­cent News, to review appli­ca­tions for city man­ager. Cur­rent city man­ager Dr. Jon Bisher announced his planned retire­ment ear­lier this year. He will be leav­ing his posi­tion in May.

Accord­ing to the paper, the Demo­c­ra­tic Cen­tral Com­mit­tee now has until March 28 to rec­om­mend a per­son to fill McColley’s unex­pired term, which ends Jan. 1, 2016.

Jason Maas­sel was elected to serve as pres­i­dent pro-tem — a posi­tion pre­vi­ously held by McColley.
